Why we built CreatorBill

The creator economy generates $250 billion annually, yet 87% of creators have been paid late, underpaid, or not paid at all. The root cause? No invoice tool understands how brand deals actually work.

Generic tools like FreshBooks, Wave, and PayPal were built for graphic designers and consultants. They don't know what an Instagram Reel is. They have no concept of usage rights, whitelisting fees, or exclusivity premiums. Creators end up sending Canva PDFs with vague line items, missing PO numbers, and no structure that a brand's finance department can process efficiently.

We built CreatorBill to fix that. Every feature exists because we saw creators struggling with invoicing and knew there was a better way.
